Audi in Györ

With the foundation of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. back in 1993, the starting signal was fired for the construction of one of the world's most modern high-tech plants. After close consideration, Audi chose the location of Györ in Hungary. Components are transported between Györ and Ingolstadt by rail for environmental reasons.

From engine production to vehicle assembly

The successful development of the Györ plant began in October 1994 when the first four-cylinder five-valve engines left the production line there.

Following three further construction stages, virtually the entire range of Audi engines is now manufactured at Györ. The plant's activities have also included the assembly of the Audi TT since 1999 and of the A3 since 2001 in a hall measuring around 35,000 qm.

This production location gained further in importance with the opening of the Technical Centre with its design area, engine testing facility and workshops. After all, Audi is already determining the course it will take in the future.
