Leading conductors such as Zubin Mehta, James Levine and Nikolaus Harnoncourt, renowned soloists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Giora Feidmann and Nigel Kennedy and famous ensembles from all over the world spirited the audiences at the Summer Concerts away with their exceptional talent.
The Summer Concerts, which have become an established feature not only at a regional level, took on a different character last year to ensure that the new direction of the Audi brand embodying “more dynamism and more emotion” was also followed in the area of cultural management. The mix of different types of music is intended to increasingly attract younger target groups, without alienating the established audience of the festival. A multi-facetted programme can thus be experienced at the Summer Concerts from 18 June to 3 August 2005 covering a wide range of music from classical to pop, jazz to hip hop and from musicals through soul on to cross-over music.
The highlights for 2005 include the opening of the festival on 18 June with Riccardo Muti and the Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra and the guest performance of the Salzburg Festival on 3 August. Popstars and newcomers will perform in Ingolstadt in cooperation with Bayern 3 radio station, and in addition, the Bayern 1 summer party will ensure an exciting atmosphere at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt. A children’s day will also take place. Open air performances at Reduit Tilly, concerts with contemporary and chamber music as well as music from around the world will round off the calendar of events.
