From racing driver to team owner

Reinhold Joest has achieved what many others attempted in vain: the step from a successful racing driver to a successful team owner. Before establishing Joest Racing in 1978, he succeeded in mounting the winners’ rostrum as sports car driver at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Seven victories at Le Mans

Le Mans and Joest are two names that are inextricably linked. The Joest team has won the legendary endurance classic no fewer than seven times and is therefore the most successful sports car team of the last 20 years. Joest Racing won three times in succession with the Audi R8 in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Joest supported the victorious Bentley Le Mans project in 2003.

Joest Racing has been a partner of AUDI AG since 1998. The team from the Odenwald region of Germany were involved in the Audi sports car project from the very beginning. The success that Joest and Audi have achieved together since then speak for themselves: Three Le Mans victories, winner of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) four times in succession and a total of 32 race wins with the Audi R8.
