Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro clinched the American the Le Mans Series LM P1 title with a race in hand before the finale at Laguna Seca following a comfortable "Petit Le Mans” victory.
The decision in the DTM will not be made until the finale at Hockenheim on 23 October.

At Brno, defending champion Mattias Ekström gave the new Audi A4 DTM its first victory and took the overall lead of Europe´s most popular Touring Car Series. With his second-place finish, Tom Kristensen made a perfect 1-2 victory. The two Audi drivers had a thrilling fight with the former runner-up of the Formula 1 World Championship, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, before taking the lead and increasing the gap to almost 25 seconds.
In the DTM’s third round at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) Audi made up ground in the overall standings. Mattias Ekström and Tom Kristensen in their Audi A4 DTM cars finished second and third on the fastest circuit of the season, reducing the distance to leader of the standings Gary Paffet, who only grabbed one point today.
Audi achieved the first podium result for the new A4 DTM at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. In front of a crowd of 78,000 spectators, Tom Kristensen shone in the race fighting his way through the field from seventh position on the grid to second at the finish.
