Can I call abroad with the Audi Bluetooth car phone?

Yes, with the "Automatic network search" setting, the provider is automatically selected. A network can also be selected manually, if desired. For more information, please see the owner's manual for your vehicle.

What mobile phones can be used with the Bluetooth car phone?

Approved mobile phones with SIM Access Profile can be found under the following link. If using devices that are not on the list, error-free operation cannot be guaranteed.

Bluetooth car phone with mobile phone without SIM Access Profile?

Yes, the telephone can be used without restrictions with a SIM card or Twin card via the optional handset, which has an SIM card reader.

Note: your mobile phone, in which the other Twin card is located, must remain switched off during use of the Bluetooth car phone, as you may experience connection problems otherwise. If it is necessary for your mobile phone to be constantly on standby (e.g. due to e-mail receipt), we recommend using an independent second card. For more information, contact your mobile communications provider.

What happens if I remove the ignition key during the call?

The active call is continued in the vehicle until it is ended by the user. The Bluetooth connection is only deactivated after the call has ended. It is not technically possible to continue the call on your mobile phone without interruption.

Is a SIM card in the handset necessary for utilisation?

No, the handset can also be used in connection with a mobile phone connected in SIM Access mode. If a SIM card is inserted in the handset, this SIM card is always used. This disconnects any existing connection to a mobile phone.

Can I also make calls outside the vehicle using the handset?

The Bluetooth handset was specifically developed for use in the vehicle passenger compartment. Outside the vehicle, error-free operation cannot be guaranteed, as the vehicle serves as the base station.

Why is my telephone number transmitted with the Bluetooth car phone?

The calling line identification setting depends on the setting in the mobile phone. For more information on configuring the calling line identification, please see the owner's manual for your vehicle.

Can I copy my contacts into the Audi MMI address book?

Yes, it is possible to copy contacts into the address book of the Audi MMI. For more information, please see the owner's manual for your vehicle.

How can I access the telephone numbers saved on my mobile when in the car?

For mobile phones that support access to the telephone numbers (details via the following link), transmission is automatic. Please note that this process can take several minutes.

Why do I have different call lists in the vehicle than in the mobile phone?

If a mobile phone is connected to the Bluetooth car phone in SIM Access mode, there is not currently a standardised Bluetooth profile for transferring the call lists. Therefore, separate call lists are managed in the vehicle, which are available again after the mobile phone is reconnected.

Why can't I see all text messages in the vehicle that are shown on my mobile?

Only text messages that are saved on the SIM card can also be displayed in the vehicle. At present, there is no standardised Bluetooth profile for transferring text messages. Note: many mobile phones do not use the SIM card by default for saving text messages, but the internal telephone memory.

Received text mess. not in mobile after SIM Access connection has been cut

Not all mobile phones automatically update the message display after the connection is cut. Note: for more information on displaying or updating messages, see the operating instructions for your mobile phone.

Are text messages deleted in the vehicle also deleted from the mobile phone?

Yes, as the text messages are deleted directly on the SIM card.

How can I write and send text messages using the Bluetooth car phone?

Text messages can only be read by the Audi MMI. With the optional handset, it is also possible to create, edit and send messages. Note: the use of the handset described here is subject to the relevant statutory requirements.

Can I also receive MMS with the Bluetooth car phone?

No, the system is not able to receive or display MMS. MMS can only be retrieved with your mobile phone. For more information, please see the operating instructions for your mobile phone.

Can you switch off the visibility again after pairing?

Yes, as the Bluetooth car phone knows the Bluetooth address of the mobile phone, it can also automatically reconnect the mobile phone if visibility is interrupted.

Can you use two SIM cards at the same time?

No. If a SIM card is inserted in the handset, this SIM card is always used. This disconnects any existing connection to a mobile phone.
