ISOFIX is the name of standardized child seat anchorages used by many different manufacturers. Child seats approved by individual manufacturers are attached to the vehicle with rigid brackets. The advantages of ISOFIX are the simple attachment and the secure installation of the child seat in the car. The standardised ISOFIX anchorages are located under the outboard rear seats. Rigid attachment of the child seat to the vehicle helps to reduce the risk of injury to children. On some models with airbag deactivation, the front passenger’s seat can also be equipped with optional ISOFIX anchorages.
